What else is there to say about Freaks and Geeks? A series that was truly ahead of its time, which knew how to deal with adolescence without being condescending or reconstructing it as an idyllic time, that grounded that two-faced genre we call dramedy and which worked as a youth academy for a whole generation of now acclaimed actors.
Almost 20 years after its release, in which there have almost been parades and demonstrations for its comeback, this ununderstandably cancelled after just one season show is back with a documentary still not seen in Spain: Freaks and Geeks: The Documentary (2018).
Because, according to its director Brent Hodge, yes, this Judd Apatow classic still has a lot to say. Aimed both at true fans and novices, the documentary follows the life, death and interiorities of this “cancelled-too-soon” series.
