Jón Gnarr cycle: ‘Gnarr’, the documentary

Screening of the documentary Gnarr at Zumzeig cinema, Sunday the 23rd at 19h.

Jón Gnarr Kristinsson was the mayor of Reykjavik from 2010 to 2014. During his mandate, he cross-dressed for the gay pride parades of the Icelandic capital and forced the coalition party to watch The Wire. As you can imagine, he didn’t have a background in the Icelandic political establishment. With a consolidated career as a comedian behind him, Gnarr got fed up with the political climate, created the Best Party, ran for mayor and won.

“This man deserves a documentary!”, you’re probably thinking. Well, yes. In fact, he’s got one: Gnarr. And since Iceland is the guest country of this edition of Serielizados Fest and Gnarr will come to the festival, we’re setting up a small retrospective at the Filmoteca of Catalunya and giving you the chance to see it. By the time Gnarr actually comes to Barcelona for his talk, you’ll already be true fans.

This session will be introduced by Betu Martínez and Víctor Sala, directors of Serielizados.

Screening in Icelandic with Spanish subtitles.
